As a child, you are completely open, sensitive and vulnerable; you love and trust unconditionally. And then people tell you that you\u2019re not right the way you are. \u201cDon\u2019t be angry\u201d, \u201cdon\u2019t cry now\u201d, \u201cdon\u2019t make a fuss\u201d or \u201cpull yourself together\u201d. You have learnt to suppress your true self, with the result that, over the years, you have become increasingly estranged from yourself. You have become a competent administrator, a perfect robot, striving to meet the expectations of others in the hope of gaining even a modicum of recognition or being loved by those around you. Many people often only realise that this involves suppressing and stifling their own natural self through pain or illness \u2013 if you\u2019re lucky enough to develop symptoms at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether it\u2019s anxiety, depression, anger, a feeling of being cut off from life, or physical reactions in the form of illness \u2013 all of these are (believe it or not) very good signs. Because your soul is using them to draw your attention back to yourself.
